ALUMNI MEMORIAL GYM

ALUMNI MEMORIAL GYM

In 2002, Middle Tennessee volleyball made its debut in the newly-renovated Alumni Memorial Gym. The facility, which once was home to Blue Raider men's and women's basketball prior to the completion of Murphy Center, is now the exclusive home of Blue Raider volleyball.

Prior to the 2002 season, the AMG, as it is nicknamed, received a new floor and in 2003 a state-of-the-art volleyball scoreboard was introduced. In 2004, Middle Tennessee Head Coach Matt Peck had floor seating installed to give fans an up close and personal feel to the volleyball experience.

Middle Tennessee's Alumni Memorial Gym was home to the 2005 Sun Belt Championships on November 17-19. The Blue Raiders and rival Western Kentucky's match in the Sun Belt Championship finals was televised on ESPN+ with a school record crowd of 1,028. It was the first time a Sun Belt finals match had been shown on ESPN.
